Thank you for visiting Yi Liu’s research webpage. You found me!
I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University. My research interests include causal inference for both observational and randomized studies, the analysis of novel and composite endpoints, data fusion, and federated learning for multi-source biomedical data. I am also broadly interested in applications to cardiovascular diseases, HIV/AIDS, congenital heart defects, and racial disparities in healthcare.
Here is my key working experience:
- PhD Statistician Intern, Eli Lilly and Company, Indianapolis, IN, Summer 2026
- Project: Causal inference under post-randomization concomitant medication imbalance
- Supervisors: Drs. Yang Ou, and Mingyang Shan
- Biostatistics Student Fellow, Duke Clinical Research Institute, Durham, NC, 2024–2026
- Projects: Robust inference of win measures (win statistics) under missing and censored data
- Main mentors: Professors Huiman Barnhart, Roland Matsouaka, Sean O'Brien, and Yuliya Lokhnygina
Here is my educational journey:
- Ph.D. in Statistics, North Carolina State University, ongoing (Advisor: Professor Shu Yang)
- Master of Biostatistics, Duke University School of Medicine, 2022 (Advisor: Professor Roland A. Matsouaka)
- B.S. in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics, Southeast University (PRC), 2020
